“I am co-leading the ‘Faith, Environmental Justice and Solar’ initiative in Wisconsin, which is an interfaith peer learning solar program that brings people of faith together to care for Earth –our common home- and save money to reinvest in their missions. I trust the unifying power of solar energy and see solar power as a sacred gift for all. Through the Faith, Environmental Justice and Solar Initiative, we are building good relationships with many solar-promising congregations, providing solar education and site assessments, and moving the conversation forward toward envisioning an equitable 100% renewable energy future.”

Wisconsin Green Muslims (formerly known as the Islamic Environmental Group of Wisconsin), a volunteer environmental justice group formed in 2005, intends to educate its members, the Muslim community and the general public about the Islamic environmental teachings, to apply these teachings in daily life and to form coalitions with others working toward a just, healthy, peaceful and sustainable future.
