Friends of Milwaukee's Downtown Forest (FMDF) submitted an application for membership and fiscal sponsorship to the Milwaukee Environmental Consortium (MEC). At the MEC February Board meeting this application was accepted. FMDF is now able to receive funds that can be managed by MEC.

This summer, a layer of green sludge coated the shores and surface of western Lake Erie, which provides drinking water for 11 million people.
Adopt-a-Beach volunteers (or Great Lakes superheroes, as we like to call them) clean beaches on all 5 Great Lakes and in all 8 Great Lakes states. And across that huge geography, there is one commonality: plastic.
The Great Lakes region is huge — home to nearly 40 million people. We need help connecting with all of those people and letting them know about issues facing the Great Lakes. So two years ago, the Alliance started a new kind of volunteer program: the Alliance Ambassadors.
