Who We Are
Huda Alkaff is the Founder and Director of Wisconsin Green Muslims. Huda is an environmentalist with higher education degrees in conservation ecology, sustainable development, and environmental education from the University of Georgia, and had teaching experience at the University of Wisconsin. She serves on the environmental justice task force for the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. Huda also serves in the leadership of the Interfaith Earth Network, the Milwaukee Environmental Consortium, the Milwaukee Water Commons and the Wisconsin Water Thinkers Network.

Why It Matters
Wisconsin Green Muslims intends to educate its members, the Muslim community and the general public about the Islamic environmental justice teachings, to apply these teachings in daily life and to form coalitions with others working toward a just, healthy, peaceful and sustainable future. We work on several environmental justice issues as they relate to climate change, water, food, fair trade, solar energy, recycling and waste reduction, transportation justice.
