News from Preserve Our Parks - Winter 2013

Every year at this time I find myself playing the role of the anti-Santa, not the Santa who brings you gifts but the one who asks you to give a gift to Preserve Our Parks.

Our small, non-profit watchdog organization was founded in 1999 to provide ongoing citizen oversight to our parks and public spaces. Our mission is to give battle to the forces that want to commercialize or otherwise transform the precious park spaces that revitalize our lives, solidify communities, raise property values, and form our renowned front yard on Lake Michigan. With the current fiscal squeeze, the battle has intensified.

This year we especially need your financial support, as we are working on issues that have required some research and legal help. Please donate if you can.

Preserve Our Parks, a nonprofit watchdog group, battles to keep Milwaukee area parks open and green, resists incursions for non-park uses, and fights for funds to properly maintain one of the County’s greatest treasures, its parks system.
